TeacherMate Initiatives (Historical and Current Information)
2008-2009 Pilot Project:
Round Rock ISD was selected as the first pilot site by E3 Alliance, a collaboration of educational institutions in Central Texas whose mission is to improve educational outcomes in the region. The TeacherMate hand-held computer system is a product of Innovations for Learning, a Chicago nonprofit organization. (more on those initial year efforts)
2009-2010 Grant Project funded by Chase
During this phase, Bastrop ISD, Pflugerville ISD, and Round Rock ISD are receiving funding through collaboration with E3Alliance to place classroom sets of TeacherMates in pilot classrooms in Kindergarten, 1st grade, and/or 2nd grade classrooms. (more on the 2009-2010 efforts)
Note regarding campuses involved in the 2008-2009 TeacherMate Pilot Project: Although the campuses who were involved in the 2008-2009 Pilot Project will continue to utilize the TeacherMates received during that phase, they will not be included in the formal data collection and analysis along with the 5 campuses involved in the 2009-2010 Project.
2010-2011 Continuation and Transitions of TeacherMate Initiatives:
During this "Post-Grant" phase, participating campuses will be using experience gained to regroup, reorganize, and/or redistribute devices to maximize use and meet campus defined needs. (more on the 2010-2011 efforts)
